An environmental-portrait study of a mature tree that stands as a silent witness to the changing landscape. In this case, the ecological border between primary versus cleared woodland. Implying different consequences subject to which side you happen to call home. For this painting I chose to work with minimal colour, focusing on numerous tonal values instead. Completed 1991.
