A site specific artwork inspired by a book titled Tree: A Life Story (2004) by author Wayne Grady and Canadian scientist David Suzuki. In this book the authors describe how trees in a forrest are interconnected by underground fungi networks. These Mycorrhizal networks link the trees via their roots into expansive webs that allow individual trees to exchange resources, information and support. My environmental sculpture riffs off this concept of a forrest as a cooperative community.
Materials: industrial ratchet straps and living Spotted gum trees. Dimensions variable. No tree was damaged during this temporary installation. Awarded highly commended while on display during Jervis Bay Shared Pathways environmental sculpture exhibition, May and June 2018.
