This painting is about how a galactic black hole affects light waves and influences the fabric of Space-Time. Like my other works in this series, such as Intergalactic Wormhole and Supernova, it is also about the challenges of describing complex subjects. Cosmology is one of my favourite branches of science. A supremely varied field of study for cosmologists who labour to understand the nature of our universe. Often I am moved by the earnest methods used by scientists to share their findings with the public. True scientists are brilliant yet humble human beings. Readily admitting how much they have yet to comprehend. For me it’s a paradigm that parallels the challenges of artistic expression and fuels my exploration of painting.
