The Op Art paintings of Bridget Riley opened my eyes to the potency of visual mathematics- an un-numerical language that I really relish. And a vocabulary favourable to exploring the universe of theoretical physics, as is the case with this painting. Gravity may exist as a particle called a graviton. May, because scientists have yet to detect one, so aren’t sure they exist. Particles are also vibrating waves, according to quantum mechanics. Not only that, those waves may even exist in multi dimensions. After this the theory becomes increasingly more abstract. Way beyond my comprehension and this study of gravitons which are simultaneously particles and waves.
